You Should Know

when you look at the night sky

do you think of me? or

when you are in the ocean

the waves licking you lightly

what does it feel like?

and tell me, when you sit quietly

in the woods, with the deer

and owls

and insects

and critters

how loud is the silence?

Does it hurt your ears?

You should know,

that I see you in the night sky,

in the rainbows and rain drops,

in flowers and the faint whispers

of fall on the horizon

And I smell you

in the dried leaves,

in the fresh dirt beneath me,

in the mushrooms and seedlings

that put their faith in Mother Earth
